What do you do at Adara?
I head up North America’s Account & Campaign Management Teams from Adara’s Mountain View Headquarters. Both teams are instrumental in onboarding and executing the media-related revenue generated by Adara’s North America Sales Team. Within any given week, the two teams could end up interacting with every department in the organization.
What do you love about working in the travel sector?
Adara is my first experience in the travel space, and I find the great thing about travel is mostly everyone does it at some point in their lives, so finding that story or angle to get the attention of a potential non-endemic advertiser is always a fun project. If you give me a potential non-endemic client, I can give you a reason why travel data is applicable to its product or service.
What is your favorite holiday destination?
To me, nothing says holidays like the summer or winter in Lake Tahoe. In the summers, you’ve got the 4th of July when it’s 80 degrees (Fahrenheit) and you can jump in the snow-chilled lake if you get too hot. In the winter, you’re building snow creatures and skiing in some of the best powder and ski resorts in the world.
What is the biggest day to day challenge you face in your role, and how do you try to overcome that?
Day-to-day challenges always revolve around the dynamic nature of the programmatic world. Customers work with Adara because of its depth and breadth of data, but at the end of the day, Sales, Account, and Campaign Management teams are held by campaign performance standards within a fast-paced programmatic environment where any number of elements could have an impact. The fun part is digging into a campaign and finding those nuggets that end up elevating its strategic value and performance.
What is the biggest challenge you face in the next 12 months and how are you preparing to face it?
Since joining Adara, it’s been exciting to see the organization move from a national to global presence. As we grow, so do the challenges with global operational alignment. How does Adara coordinate Sales, Account, and Campaign Management team efforts across continents to ensure operational alignment? This involves upleveling cross-functional collaboration with our counterparts in APAC & EMEA to ensure each office is setting up clients for global success.
What is your #1 Bucket list travel destination?
I have always wanted to visit London. I’m a history junkie and see London as the center of a historic region that has been a part of many milestone events over the centuries. I’d very much enjoy experiencing this iconic city in person.
What are the three things you would take with you to a deserted island?
Well, for me, if I’m on a deserted island, I would want to get off the island, so I’d bring:
- A sailboat
- A paddle
- Sunglasses
- Boring? Yes, but can’t help it – I don’t do well sitting in one spot for too long.
