Layton knows how to take a business to the heights of success. He co-founded online loyalty marketing company MyPoints.com, and as its co-president, saw revenue and profitability more than double. Prior to serving in that role, Layton was head of business and corporate development for MyPoints.com, overseeing public and private company acquisitions and developing strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 companies. He was CFO during the company’s pre- and post-IPO periods and later helped guide the sale of MyPoints.com to United Airlines (NASDAQ: UAL) in 2001 and to United Online (NASDAQ: UNTD) in 2006. He is a graduate of the University of California’s Haas School of Business, where he earned an M.B.A. Layton also holds a B.S. in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the University of California-Davis.
Charged with helping to develop innovative travel intelligence products and building solid partnerships and alliances, Scott brings significant business development and marketing savvy to the ADARA team. He has a track record of success at both a Fortune 500 company as well as a venture-backed startup. During his tenure as managing director of distribution and planning for United Airlines, Scott led the development plan that created Orbitz.com, a venture funded by five major airlines, including United. Additionally, Scott was one of the founding board members of Orbitz, and he guided the company to a successful IPO. Scott was also president of the subsidiary of UAL Corporation responsible for monetizing select United assets, including its frequent flyer membership base and media channels. Scott has an M.B.A from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and a B.S. in Economics from Utah State University.
ADARA relies on the information extraction, data modeling, and text analytics expertise of Charles Mi. Inspired by his work in the machine learning and text mining fields, Charles helped develop the innovative analysis framework that drives the ADARA Magellan travel intelligence platform. Before cofounding ADARA, Charles worked at IBM Research – Almaden, one of eight laboratories worldwide that make up IBM Research. There, he conducted extensive research on text mining and business intelligence, and helped lead the development of the IBM WebFountain Anti-Money Laundering solution. Charles attended Stanford University for his graduate work, completing a M.S. in Computer Science. He earned a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
I-Heng refined his expertise in enterprise search application development while working at Oracle, a global leader in business software. Applying his knowledge of advanced data analysis, I-Heng helped to develop the ADARA Magellan travel intelligence platform. Prior to working at Oracle, he attended graduate school at Stanford University, earning a M.S. in Computer Science. Heng also holds a B.S. in Computer Science from North Carolina State.
With over 13 years of experience in travel and data-driven marketing, Brandon expertly advises travel companies on how to leverage marketing technology to grow their business. Prior to joining ADARA, Brandon held senior marketing, sales and partnership roles at some of the world’s largest OTAs and travel companies including Orbitz and Hotwire. During his time at ADARA, he has built and led sales teams in both U.S. and Europe, launched ADARA’s Magellan platform business, and is now responsible for driving global revenue growth. Brandon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree from Grand Valley State University.
William is a senior analytics leader with twenty years of experience in the technology and financial services industries. He has extensive experience in using data-driven insights to optimize marketing strategy and develop new opportunities for the business. His years in the financial services industry include the First Vice President role at JPMorgan Chase & Co. (formerly Washington Mutual Card Services), overseeing analytics teams in Acquisition, CRM, and Pricing. Additionally, William led the analytics team at Quotient Technology Inc. (formerly Coupons.com), focusing on channel profitability and customer LTV. Prior to joining ADARA, he was responsible for Customer Analytics at Apple. William holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley.
Melissa serves as the Senior Vice President of Product for ADARA, to which she brings more than 15 years experience running product management and product marketing teams. She thrives on bringing industry-leading products to market that excite customers. Previously, she held the title of VP of Product for AdMobius and Velti focused on mobile advertising and data management. Prior to Velti, Melissa was Senior Director, Product Management at Yahoo!, where she led product management for the suite of display ad serving products as well as worked in search marketing and local monetization. Preceding her work in the digital advertising industry, Melissa spent over a decade working on storage management and enterprise software solutions in product marketing, market research and product management roles at both established and startup companies including VERITAS, Infogenesis, and Invio. She received a B.A. in Economics from University of California, Santa Barbara and a MBA from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business.
Michael Cain has been leading finance and accounting operations for companies in Silicon Valley for over 20 years. Most recently, Michael was VP of Corporate Finance at HotChalk, a high-growth e-learning company. Prior to that, he was VP Finance/Business Unit Controller at Arcot Systems, a leading SaaS provider of online identity authentication solutions which was acquired by CA Technologies. Michael also spent several years as Corporate Controller at TIBCO Finance Technology. Earlier in his career, he worked at Deloitte, The Gap and the San Jose Sharks. Michael received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
As the Vice President of Data Product & Strategy, Michael brings to ADARA over twenty years of experience spanning practitioner and leadership roles in media, marketing, and customer analytics. He comes to ADARA from IBM’s Cognitive Engagement division where he brought to market enabling technologies and customer analytics for end-to-end martech and adtech use cases across multiple industry verticals and diverse business users. Michael is an expert at developing robust partner ecosystems that address critical business needs and create value for clients and partners through shared innovative solutions. Making advanced analytics approachable, usable and profitable for organizations is Michael’s career-long passion, from his first econometric model to his most recent work with machine learning. Michael earned his BA in Anthropology at the University of Chicago.
